Since we haven't posted any photos for a while, we thought you might enjoy seeing a few. The first photo was taken last Thursday after we unsuccessfully attempted to leave Demopolis. Fred, the marina owner, had the boat hauled out so they could look at the drive shaft and try to figure out why the stuffing box was overheating. It's pretty amazing watching a 30,000-pound boat, and our home, get lifted up out of the water.....don't try this at home!

The next picture shows the Admiral scraping barnacles off the drive shaft - it's important to keep those barnacles off your bottom & shaft!

And the final picture shows Buddy sleeping off a hangover after getting a little too juiced; he too is tired of the heat & maintenance issues!

It's great to see pictures! Keep them coming...looks like Buddy is managing to keep cool... talked to Vivian and she's looking forward to meeting you in the SUMMER in the Chesapeake Bay area instead of the spring as originally planned :) Looks like you're about a month behind schedule - we'll be there to greet you (ready to tackle some blue crabs???!)

Hi Todd & Brenda!

This is Darla from American Family Insurance. You are very welcome on the help of the insurance! I loved reading about your adventures. What a great idea to keep your family and friend up on your awesome journey. I am going to let my mother in law know about your website, as they are travelers & camping lake fanatics. They are in their very early 60's & plan to retire by hooking up to a camper and traveling. I don't think they really ever thought about a boat. They recently lost their pontoon & camper in our March tornado & only replaced the camper. The family is betting the no boat thing won't last, only time will tell. My mother in law is being stubborn, so I know this summer there won't be a new Pontoon, because she is stubborn & wants to show us kids that they can go without the boat & only have a dingy! Beside they do have my friend up at Pomme and they can be picked up by their campsite and enjoy the riding a few drinks without being the one to drive back! :)

Keep the journal going & yes, I do enjoy seeing the photos. I am like a kid, with reading, I enjoy seeing the pictures too!

Tell Fred HI! He seems like a very nice gentleman!
